If you are bringing your registered rats for the Standards Show or Pet Show, here is the schedule you will need to keep in mind.
9:30 am – 10:45 am
Check-in / Health Check / Payment
This is always the busiest part of the morning, so please read carefully.
Only rats that have been preregistered are permitted to enter the venue. Find the entrance to the venue where the health checkers are located. If you have trouble finding it, ask whoever is at the admissions table and they will point you in the right direction.
Health checkers will look for any visible signs of sickness including but not limited to, mites, lice, wheezing, sneezing, crackling in the lungs, etc. If a rat is found with problems that are deemed contagious, the rat and any cage mates will be turned away. In the case of a dry sneeze, the rat will be placed in "hold" and re-examined as we understand dust, perfume or airborne items can irritate.
Once your rats clear health check, the volunteer will give you the score cards for your rats. Take the cards to the admissions table and pay your admittance fee and rat entry fees. Hold on to the score cards because you will need to bring them up to the judges table when it's your rat's turn.
Breeders, who are members in good standing, may have babies available for prearranged pick up only. The same goes for any rescues attending the event. We do not allow unplanned sales at our shows.

11:00 am
Kitten Class Show
(Rats between the age of 8 and 14 weeks)
This is made up of two shows. One for marked rats, and one for solid/shaded rats. You will need to put your rat in a show box and bring it to the appropriate table with the rat's score card on top. When the judges finish, they will announce the winners and you can pick up your rats.
If your rat won Best of Variety, you will be asked to bring your rat back to the table so the judges can determine Best of Show.
12:00 pm
Pet Show
Rats in the pet show do not need to be put in show boxes. If they have a costume, make sure you have it prepared. We know getting those on can be a struggle, so don't worry if it takes a minute. It's a pretty laid back event and we are familiar with the struggle of squirming rats.
1:00 pm
Adult Rat Show
This is also made up of two shows. One for marked rats, and one for solid/shaded rats. Just like with the Kitten Show, you will need to put your rat in a show box and bring it to the appropriate table with the rat's score card on top. When the judges finish, they will announce the winners and you can pick up your rats.
If your rat won Best of Variety, you will be asked to bring your rat back to the table so the judges can determine Best of Show.
Judging time is based on the number of rats entered in the show. The event ends at 4pm, so we try to be done no later than 3:30pm. Please ensure that you clean up after yourself and return any show boxes rented from the club.
Ratapalooza is presented by RatsPacNW Rat Fanciers Club. We are a 501(c)4 non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public and securing the wellbeing of rats!
