Non-Agouti Colors

Standardized colors based on black (a/a) genetics.

Black
Black to the skin, black eyes. Should not exhibit rusting, brown spots, or silvering.

Genetics:
Black: aa
Black is recessive and requires two copies of the gene to express.




Beige
Tan, cream to buff color with ruby eyes

Genetics:
aa rr
Black with two copies of the Red Eye Dilute (RED) gene




Blue
A slate blue color even to skin, black eyes.

Genetics:
aa gg
Black and two copies of the blue gene.




Sky Blue
A pale blue, lighter than slate but darker than powder blue, black eyes.

Genetics:
aa gg
Black with two copies of the blue gene.




Powder Blue
A very pale blue, black to ruby eyes.

Genetics:
aa gg w/modifier
Black with two copies of the blue gene. Possibly carrying another dilute.


Blue Beige
A Russian blue beige, beige/tan with a blue-gray tint, black eyes.

Genetics:
aa dd rr
Black with two copies of the Red Eye Dilute (RED) and two copies of the Russian Blue gene.




Champagne
A pale creamy beige color with pink eyes.

Genetics:
aa pp
Black and two copies of the Pink Eye Dilute (PED).


Chocolate
A warm rich brown to skin with black eyes, may have black or dark tipped guard hairs.

Genetics:
aa bb
Black and two copies of the chocolate gene.


Cocoa
A soft warm cocoa color, black to dark ruby eyes.

Genetics:
aa bb Rr
Black with two copies of the chocolate gene and one copy of the Red Eye Dilute (RED) gene.




Lilac
Dusty gray brown, eyes black.

Genetics:
aa gg bb Rr
Black with two copies of the blue gene, two copies of the chocolate gene, and one copy of the Red Eye Dilute (RED).




Mink
A cool, deep, brown color with a blue/gray tint, black eyes.

Genetics:
aa mm
Mink is recessive and requires two copies of the gene to express.




Havana
Mink diluted with a ruby eye gene. A lighter rich warm brown color, ruby eyes.

Genetics:
aa mm Rr
Black with two copies of mink and one
copy of the Red Eye Dilute (RED)




Pearl
Silvery cream color, hairs tipped with gray, gray guard hairs, black eyes

Genetics:
aa mm Pepe
Black with two copies of mink and carrying the Pink Eye Dilute (PED).




Platinum
A light blue beige color created from blue and RED or blue and mink. Eye color ruby to pale ruby and sometimes black.

Genetics:
aa gg rr
aa gg mm
Black plus two copies of the blue gene and two copies of the Red Eye Dilute (RED) or
Black plus two copies of the blue gene and two copies of the mink gene.

Russian Blue
A deep dark dusty blue, with a heathering look to the hairshaft. May have dark ticking. Black eyes.

Black with two copies of the russian blue gene.




Russian Silver (Double Blue)
 Russian blue with American blue. Black eyes.

Genetics:
aa gg dd
Black with two copies of the russian blue gene and two copies of the blue gene.


Silver
Genetically a pink-eyed blue. May appear off-white or have a bluish tint.

Genetics:
aa gg pp
Black with two copies of the blue gene and two copies of Pink Eye Dilute (PED).


Black Eye White
All white with no spotting, black eyes.

Genetics:
Extreme over spotting




Red Eye White
All white, no spotting, pink or red eyes.

Genetics:
cc (albino) or multiple recessives causing dilution
